Canarlo is an engineering studio in Leeds. We exist because the way software gets bought is broken: a paragraph of requirements, a quote nobody can evaluate, then months of hoping.
So we separated the thinking from the building. Everyone starts with a fixed £8,000 Blueprint. Then you decide who builds it — us, you with AI, or anyone else. That is what plan-first means.
Code, infrastructure, accounts, keys and the plan itself. Retainers should be earned every month, not enforced by ownership.
Plain TypeScript, plain Postgres, plain Next.js. Any competent developer can pick it up in a week — which is the point.
Auth, validation and permissions on every action. The difference between a demo and software a business can run on.
If a tool you already pay for does the job, or the idea doesn't stand up, we'll tell you on the call and point you elsewhere.
AI compresses delivery. It does not remove the need for a plan, an architecture, or someone accountable when a payment fails at 2am. Our studio is built so the speed is real and the rigour survives.
The three places AI fits →Work is scoped, delegated, reviewed and tracked against the Blueprint.
Build, review, security and tests run together rather than in a queue.
Our own build engine carries the parts every product needs.
Every run and change is visible while it happens, not summarised later.
Canarlo is founder-led: the person who plans your product is the person you speak to. Short bio to be supplied — background, the products behind this way of working, and why plan-first.
Tell us what you’re trying to ship, what you’ve already tried, and what’s in the way. If the work is a fit, we’ll say so. If not, we’ll tell you who to talk to instead.
